Advanced Hands-on Course in Skull Base Surgery 2023 Announcement

Date: May 11th-13th, 2023
Location: University of Duesseldorf, Institute of Anatomy

Target audience:
the course is addressed to residents in the last third of their residency and young board-certified neurosurgeons. During the course the essential microsurgical approaches to the skull base and the cranio-cervical junction will be covered. The course will enable young neurosurgeons orienting their sub-specialization into skull base surgery to become more confident. The focus of the course is a hands-on experience performed by the participants (a tandem per table). They are supervised by experienced skull base surgeons, many of them active members of the Skull Base Panel of the EANS.
Additionally, a Virtual Reality workplace will be available for systematic teaching of image segmentation and applications for surgical planning of complex skull base cases.

Fees:
the full course fees include all tuition costs, a microscopic workplace at an anatomic specimen (2 persons/specimen), subsistence during the course (coffee breaks & lunches) and a course dinner with the faculty. The observer course fees include the same except the microscopic workplace, but good observation opportunities at the workstations and the master workstation (4 HD Flat Screens) exist.
Discount on registration for the EANS Individual Members.
- individual EANS members: 1350 Euro
- non-members: 1500 Euro.
- observers: 500 Euro (10% discount for individual EANS members)

The dissections from 3D Atlas of Neurological Surgery were performed at the course facility and they can be used as preparation guide for the course.
